30-Year Treasury Yield Hits Lowest Since September as Oil Falls; Fed Hike Odds Near 70%
Bonds Rally, Fed Still Leaning Hawkish
Yields fall with oil
The 30-year Treasury yield fell to its lowest level since 9 September on 2 November 2026. Falling oil prices eased inflation worries, which tends to pull long-term yields down.
But the Fed may still hike
The CME FedWatch Tool put the chance of a December rate hike at roughly 69-74%, depending on the time of day. The Fed meets on 8-9 December.
Why stock traders watch bonds
- Lower long-term yields make future profits worth more today, which usually helps growth stocks.
- A rate hike raises borrowing costs and tends to weigh on valuations.
The tension between falling oil and a hawkish Fed is one of the market's biggest open questions this month.
